Paloma Open 2024

Cinco de Mayo was extra festive this year as Barkonsult Norway and Bacardi teamed up to host the Paloma Open 2024. This "Mystery Box" competition saw 15 talented bartenders gather for a fun-filled day of cocktail creativity. Held on May 5th, the event celebrated the art of mixology as participants crafted their unique takes on the classic Paloma cocktail.

Cinco de Mayo competition

Each contestant was handed a mystery box filled with goodies, including Monin and Paragon products, the complete Three Cents series, and fresh fruits. With just 30 minutes on the clock, they had to whip up a new Paloma recipe using these ingredients. The only rule? Patron had to be the star of the show.

Once the creation time was up, the bartenders presented their drinks to a panel of three expert judges. The judges evaluated each Paloma based on taste, appearance, and presentation, making the contestants bring their A-game in every detail.

And the winner is...

Magnus Thorset took home the top prize at the Paloma Open 2024. His innovative and delicious Paloma won over the judges. Cheers to Magnus!
