Cold brew coffee

Cold brewing leaves behind some acids and bitterness that traditional hot brewing pulls out easily. This not only creates a coffee that is flavourful, smooth, and mellow but also one that can hold up for days and still taste fresh. This makes it perfect for iced coffee or any other cold coffee drink!

Coffee beans and water

We are lucky to have such a rich coffee culture in Scandinavia. Not only do we have many great coffee producers, but also great tap water – which is essential in a good cold brew.

Try out different kinds of coffee and find the one that fits you and your beverage best. Light-roasted African coffees often have light floral citrus notes, while in dark-roasted coffee you will find notes of chocolate, caramel, and red berries. So, in the same way you would pair your gin with suited tonic and garnish, you can pair your coffee with suited syrups, milk, mixers, and garnish.

Tools and method

You don't need more than a large dispenser, some coffee filters, a fridge, and a coffee grinder (not mandatory). The process is easy and won't take more than five minutes to mix, but you must wait at least 12 hours before you can strain it.

- 100g coffee
- 1L cold water

Grind the coffee coarsely and combine the grounds with water, then let it steep for around 12-16 hours. During this time, the coffee slowly infuses into the water, creating a strong, concentrated brew. Strain the mix through a coffee filter, and you're ready to go.
